GPSHelper is the Swiss army knife software for your device's GPS, useful for facilitating the GPS fix, seeing its status, and many other useful functions.

How is the application used?

The application is started, positioning itself in situations where a GPS signal can normally be received (it can also happen inside the house but it is more difficult), that is to say in the open air and possibly in movement so that the satellites can triangulate. At that point it is sufficient to wait a few moments to see the first satellites that are received, some satellites detected if there are no hardware or software defects the gps chip performs the fix. At this point you can send the application in the background and open a browser software or for example Google Maps.
All this usually happens in a few seconds as per the examples below of some satisfied users, and others that have documented their feedback in the forum or in the market.

Sometimes if the GPS has a cache that has "unpacked" the phone's GPS chip (for example some Galaxy S), it may be necessary to either remove the GPS cache (where possible) or wait a little longer.

At the moment it appears to be the best FIX application for GPS on Android without needing root privileges, or making special phone changes.

Known issues:
a) Sony Tablet S menu button with ICS 4.0.3 does not work.
b) The nexus, and in general some mobile phones with Android version 4.3, receive an "error" due to Android itself when exiting the program with the exit button. This does not affect the normal operation of the application. This anomaly seems to have finally been resolved starting from Android 5.0 Lollipop.
